Come back to me

The initial scene of the movie 'Somewhere in Time' begins with a tender request, "Come back to me".

This movie became a classic one and it's based upon a novel of the same name, written by Richard Matheson, and it has the science fiction as the background of a story of romance and drama, that shows a man using hypnosis to transcend time and space, travelling back in time to meet the love of his dreams, a woman whose portrait he has seen but has never met before.

The film makes us think of the possibility of falling in love with someone who's not at our current life time.

The metaphores and paradoxes concerning such an "unreal" time to be understood by our conventional minds are softened by the screenplayer, however the romance and drama are the foreground of this story, added by a beautiful photography and stunning music made by Rachmaninoff (Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini) and by the legendary John Barry.

At the end of the film it is supposed that some lovers sadly need to experience even the death in order to rediscover one to another at last, and to find a new tomorrow.
